The Play

'Bloodties' is a gripping drama set in the late 1940s on the Burnham Family Estate in Mississippi. Family members navigate complex relationships as an unwitting outsider gets caught in the middle of long standing family politics. The Burnham Family have a history of buried truths as they use them against one another as ammunition. This intriguing drama unravels generations of blood ties.The future of the Burnham Estate now lies in the hands of the brave versus the bold.

The Group

Sparked by a whirlwind week at the Drama League of Ireland Summer School, Hoodwink Productions has a lively backstory. Vanessa, a drama enthusiast, kicked off her theatrical journey with The Backstage Theatre Group in Longford. After moving to Cavan, her eagerness to become part of a group emerged. Enter Elaine, a playwright extraordinaire, celebrated in a past DLI One Act Writing Competition. Their paths crossed at Summer School '23, revealing a shared Cavan address and a joint dream of crafting a new drama group. Fuelled by their zest, they teamed up with the charismatic local actor and director, Phil Gilbride, forming the dynamo that debuted as Hoodwink Productions in the Confined Competition of the One Act Circuit.
